Horoscopes for September's Eclipse Season
There's a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on Sept 7 & a Solar Eclipse in Virgo on Sept 21... Here's what it means for you.
September’s eclipses are on the Virgo-Pisces Axis
The new moon in Virgo this week (August 23) is the first of two new moons in the sign of the harvest goddess this year. This week is a normal (non-eclipse) new moon that occurs at 0 degrees Virgo. The sun and moon enter Virgo together, holding hands and jumping into the part of the sky known for discernment, digestion, and service.
The second Virgo new moon of this season will be a solar eclipse on September 21.
And right in the middle of these two dark moons, we have a full moon total lunar eclipse in Pisces, a powerful lunation where the earth will block the light of the sun shining from across the sky in Virgo and cast a rosy hue on la luna in Pisces.
Eclipse seasons are turning points, cosmic thresholds where the Sun, Moon, and Earth align to open portals of endings and beginnings. They tend to shake the fabric of ordinary time, pushing us forward on our timeline…whether or not we feel ready.
We’re in the midst of the Virgo–Pisces nodal eclipse axis (2025–2026), a cycle of purification and surrender. Virgo insists on refinement, order, and embodied service. Pisces dissolves boundaries, asks for faith, and awakens our imagination. Together, they demand a dance between structure and surrender, between doing and being.
We’ve already tasted this story back in March/April 2025, when the first eclipses in this cycle cracked open new pathways. Now, September continues the unraveling and reweaving of new storylines.
Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (September 7, 15 degrees, 22 minutes )
The Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (Sept 7) brings release, endings, and dissolutions, especially around old dreams, ideals, or illusions. The Solar Eclipse in Virgo (Sept 21) anchors new beginnings through giving up over-working and rigidity and focusing on discipline, practice, and devotion that is aligned with a higher spiritual calling.
The Pisces Lunar Eclipse will be opposite the sun, Mercury, and the Lot of Fortune in Virgo. This eclipse will highlights the tension between analysis and intuition, reminding us that not everything can be measured or perfected, and that many truths arrive through trust. It’s trine to Jupiter in Cancer, which could soften the release, offering emotional expansion and nourishment.
At a North Node lunar eclipse, like the one on September 7, the light of the Moon is swallowed, revealing something that has to be released in order to clear the way for a future you hunger for. Full moons are always about culminations and releases, and this eclipse is turbocharged. It’s the end of what prevents you from feeding that craving for a more Piscean-flavored future.
During the eclipse portal, there’s typically a strong feeling of urgency. The lunar eclipse clears old emotional patterns, illusions, and attachments, and in their absence, the pull of the North Node is felt even more strongly.
You may experience loss, but it immediately creates space that feels destined, like being propelled toward something new.
Old comfort zones are stripped so that you can no longer retreat into them; you must lean into the “becoming.” (Ahem… the only way out is through.)
Emotional hunger is stirred up. The eclipse doesn’t satisfy the Pisces North Node’s hunger for spiritual merging, it intensifies the craving.
So while lunar eclipses often feel like letting go, this one points the release toward the North Node direction: Pisces themes of surrender, faith, flow, the dissolution of control. The eclipse will help you release something that was keeping you from dissolving into that bigger tide.
During both eclipses, the background hum of the mini-grand trine between Pluto in Aquarius, Uranus in Gemini, and Neptune/Saturn in Aries will underscore that these personal shifts are part of a far larger collective metamorphosis, and our personal experiences are aligning us with the architecture of a new era.
New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo (September 21, 28 degrees and 59 minutes )

The Solar Eclipse in Virgo on Sept 21 is pretty… sharp-edged. It’s directly opposite Saturn in Pisces and within orb of Neptune in Aries, forcing us to confront the weight of limits and illusions. Virgo wants clarity, but Saturn and Neptune across the skies demand surrender.
This opposition forms the spine of a kite formation, tethered into that same ongoing mini grand trine of Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini with Neptune/Saturn in Aries. What looks like a crisis of unraveling actually plugs into a larger evolutionary current, where this eclipse acts like a kind of release valve. With the moon blocking the sun’s rays, Virgo’s conscious precision is forced to yield to more emotional wisdom. This is where Pluto and Uranus can rewire the collective systems.
At any South Node solar eclipse, the new beginning isn’t about launching forward, it’s about exposing or seeding an ending. It often shows the start of a process of unraveling or emptying out. The solar eclipse illuminates what must be dismantled, sometimes suddenly.
You may start something that ultimately leads to closure.
Old patterns get re-triggered so you can finally see and shed them.
The eclipse shows you what’s outgrown, unsustainable, or sterile (in this case, Virgo-style overwork, perfectionism, and micro-management) and forces you to move past it with emotional resolve.
So this Virgo solar eclipse isn’t a “plant a seed and grow” moment (like a north node solar eclipse would be). Instead, it’s a karmic purge disguised as a beginning. What gets initiated here will likely expose where control, critique, or over-analysis no longer serve. The “new” is really about making room for the collective desire of the Pisces North Node -laying down the burden of perfection and dissolving into flow, faith, and compassion.
In summary…
Sept. 7 Lunar Eclipse on North Node: Release is a slingshot forward in life. Something ends, but it pulls you directly into the hunger of the North Node. Emotional tides carry you into the new, whether you’re ready or not.
Sept. 21 Solar Eclipse on South Node: A “new beginning” that actually initiates an unraveling. The Sun’s light is blocked, exposing karmic residue that must be dismantled so the path forward clears.
The essence of the collective desire of the Pisces North Node/Virgo South Node that is highlighted by these eclipses is:
Surrendering to the tide. After years of hyper-analysis, optimization, and control (Virgo South Node), the hunger is to stop micromanaging existence and let something larger carry us.
Re-enchantment. Pisces pulls us toward longing for mystery, awe, and connection with what transcends logic. The desire is to feel part of something greater than ourselves, to live inside story, music, and myth again.
Compassion over critique. Instead of Virgo’s critical eye, the collective is hungry for empathy, forgiveness, and dissolving the harsh lines that divide us.
Union and wholeness. Pisces seeks to dissolve separations. The desire is for unity consciousness, not fragmentation.
Faith in the invisible. Virgo South Node is all about the spreadsheet, while Pisces North Node asks us to trust the current we can’t measure. The hunger is for trust, intuition, and spiritual connection.
Rest. Collectively, we are exhausted from constant fixing, hacking, and optimizing. Pisces wants rest — sleep, dream, drifting — to let the unconscious and the imaginal do their work.
We just experienced 12 years of Neptune in Pisces and 3 years of Saturn in Pisces, so we’re very familiar with the energy of the fishes. We’ve drifted in its fog, tested its boundaries, and felt both the ache of disillusionment and the grace of surrender.
Now, with the North Node in Pisces and the South Node in Virgo, the eclipses give us the assignment of karmically unifying this axis. In September, it’s time to release Virgo’s over-perfected patterns of control while carrying forward its gifts of devotion and service, and to embrace Pisces’ call toward trust, compassion, and mystical flow without losing grounding. These eclipses are not just dissolutions or beginnings; they are the weaving together of discipline and surrender into a completely new way of being.

From March’s Threshold to September’s Crossing
Back in March and April 2025, the first eclipses on the Virgo/Pisces axis cracked open this cycle. Many of us felt the initial tug: the call to loosen the grip of constant fixing, planning, and purifying, while simultaneously being drawn toward trust in something larger.
Now, in September, our work on that front deepens. The Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (Sept 7) lights the North Node, pulling us forward into the unknown: surrender, faith, and dissolving into the larger ocean of life. The Solar Eclipse in Virgo (Sept 21) reminds us what must be released: obsessive routines, self-criticism, the illusion that we can perfect our way to safety.
Together, these eclipses mark a crossing. The invitation is to carry the gifts of Virgo with a light touch, to use discernment and service as tools, not prisons. Pisces is the compass now. Its North Node direction asks us to remember that our highest devotion is not to control, but to connection.
The lesson of this eclipse season:
Lay down the burden of perfectionism.
Let discipline serve devotion, not fear.
Allow yourself to be carried by the tide of something larger.
As a collective we are moving from fixing to flowing, from rituals of control to rituals of faith. September is not the end of the story, but this eclipse season reveals a time when we stop resisting the current and let it carry us forward.
Have a beautifully surrendered and path-opening eclipse season, y’all.

This is a beautiful and generous offering, thank you 🙏🏾✨ Isn't that kite aspect on the solar eclipse wild? This Virgo rising is very ready for a reset! My ascendant is at 0° so I've been in it since the last new moon
Wow wow wow what a breakdown!!
I’m an Aries rising and I’m resonating HARD with this (and not looking forward to addressing routines I’ve been dragging my feet on) , I def lean in my old cycles of retreat and know it’s time to sacrifice them . I’m also dreaming about a future without taking the concrete steps every day to make progress in embodied practice. Seems like this is my not-so-gentle nudge to get my shit together and do the work :p!
