Sprouting Into Action: A Spring Equinox Ritual
Join me this Saturday to ring in the astrological new year
Hey friends,
I spent this new-moon eve giving my fir trees haircuts, crunching tumbleweeds, and pulling out last year’s crispy weeds to find lovely green sprouts underneath.
I stood there for a minute just taking it in. In the air, something has definitely shifted. The songbirds are singing up a storm, and ravens and redtail hawks are catching wind overhead. The light is lingering, casting golden rays on the bare branches, about to burst into bud. My body finally feels ready to move after a season of delicious Pisces bed-rot.
We’ve been in a slow unraveling in the primordial waters of Pisces for a while now… and we’re coming to a catalyst point.
Today’s Pisces new moon is asking us to dream and dissolve, to make our way through the birth canal of the last degrees of the entire Zodiac.
Mercury retrograde, which stations direct on Friday, has asked us to rewind, revamp and reconsider how we relate to spirit and source.
Friday the 20th welcomes us to the starting point, the big threshold: the equinox, Ostara, the astrological new year. The moment when the ram’s green little dicot horns crack open the seed and sprout up above ground to meet the world anew.
On Saturday, Mars makes a sexy trine to Jupiter, a harmonious aspect that expands our willpower and agency. Sunday brings a Neptune cazimi, where our emergent dreams get to sit for a moment on the throne of the Sun.
All of these powers combined? Even if you don’t feel it on the new moon quite yet, something is truly getting ready to sprout, bringing new life to everything we absorbed in the last cycle.
