No Kings? The Astro/Human Design of Mr. GoldenToilet President's Birthday
As we are all so poignantly aware, today is Mr. Golden-Toilet-Seat’s 79th birthday. He’s throwing a multi-hundred-million dollar parade in his own honor, which corresponds strangely with the anniversary of the US Army/Flag Day. In response, citizens in thousands of cities across the US (and the world) are marching into the streets for ‘No Kings’ protests. With this current moment being so lit, and so focused on this would-be king, I thought I’d do a little digging into the astrology and human design of his birthday.
Gemini Sun with a Shadow of Vanity
Mr. G-T is a Gemini, with his sun blazing in the 10th house of career and public perception. In the Human Design system, he was born in the Gate of Caution (Gate 12), which is known as Standstill in the I’Ching. Gate 12 is the gate of refined expression, where emotional depth meets the power of timing, asking us to speak only when our words carry truth, beauty, and impact. The shadow of Gate 12, however, is vanity: the urge to speak or perform for attention or validation, masking emotional depth with dramatics or withholding to manipulate perception. This shadow masks insecurity with flair, using charm, exaggeration, or drama to secure admiration and control attention.
Gate 12 is theatrical, dramatic, and deeply aware of audience. At its worst, it can be manipulative or elitist. At its best, it wields language and presence like a spell- able to move crowds, inspire loyalty, or silence dissent with a gesture. People with the sun in the Gate of Caution don’t act impulsively, they curate the moment for maximum impact. And Trump, with this gate in the 10th house of public status, knows how to use spectacle to claim authority.
Eclipsed Sagittarius Moon in the Gate of the Egoist
Back in 1946, DJT was born on a lunar eclipse, where the moon in Sagittarius across the sky from the sun in Gemini was dimmed by the earth’s shadow. Last Wednesday’s full moon in Sagittarius was the same exact full moon (by degree) that he was born on 79 years ago.
His (eclipsed) moon is in the Human Design Gate of the Egoist- which I don’t think will come as a surprise to any of us. The Moon here indicates that emotional needs and instincts are channeled through a desire to be recognized, trusted, and remembered. It can carry an innate knack for showmanship, salesmanship, and crafting an image that aligns with what others want to believe, even if it means stretching facts. There’s a deep emotional push to be seen as valuable, essential, or indispensable to the group.
People born on lunar eclipses tend to be wired for dramatic, fated turning points. His sun/moon eclipse axis, with the Moon in the Gate of the Egoist (in Sagittarius in his 4th house) opposite the Sun in the Gate of Caution (in Gemini in his10th house), reveals a lifelong, fated tension between private identity and public image, between a conscious desire to control the narrative (Gate 12) and an emotional need to be recognized, exalted… and even crowned (Gate 12).
His Mars Return… in the Gate of Perserverance
Another fascinating thing with DJT’s astro is that he is currently experiencing his Mars return. At this moment, Mars has returned to the exact position it held at his birth. This is Leo Gate 29, known as the Gate of Perserverance or Commitment. This gate reveals a relentless drive to pursue what one commits to with full force, regardless of whether it’s sustainable or aligned. This gate operates through the sacral center, giving it a raw, responsive energy. It says yes instinctively, and then powers through with tenacity, often without pause for reflection.
With Mars conjunct his ascendant, also in the Gate of Perserverance, this placement suggests that once his will is engaged - especially in matters of dominance, conquest, or personal ambition - he’s unlikely to back down, even if the original commitment was impulsive or ill-advised. It fuels his reputation for doubling down, for turning everything into a win-or-lose game, and for investing enormous energy into proving loyalty to his own vision.
His Mars is in Gate 29, line 3, known in the I’Ching as Evaluation. This line carries the lesson of discernment through failure, learning not to say yes just because you can, but because it's truly aligned. In his case, this energy contributes to rash decisions, especially around conflict, power plays, and loyalty tests.
His ascendant is in 29 line 6, known in the I’Ching as Confusion. This line’s potential is wisdom through withdrawal, a mature awareness of what’s worth enduring and what isn’t. But when not integrated, it manifests as clinging to outdated commitments out of confusion, pride, or fear of seeming weak. Ultimately, this Leo conjunction of Mars and the Ascendant in 29 reflects a personality that’s driven to commit without pause and desperate to be seen as someone who never backs down, even when retreat or discernment would be wiser.
Mars & Ascendant in the 12th house of Martyrdom
His natal Mars and ascendant are in the 12th house, a place where this this relentless drive becomes more complex. It’s hidden from view, but no less potent. This placement suggests that his aggressive will and need to dominate are often filtered through unconscious patterns, secret motivations, and behind-the-scenes maneuvering (again, no surprises here…).
While Mars in Gate 29 commits fiercely, its 12th house placement adds a layer of opacity. He may not even fully understand what drives him to double down so hard. The actions may appear outwardly bold, but the root impulses are often reactive, ego-protective, and emotionally buried. This placement reinforces a pattern of acting out unresolved drives in ways that are hard to predict, difficult to admit, and nearly impossible for others to influence.
It also adds a dimension of martyrdom or persecution complex, the sense that he must fight, persist, and win, even if no one sees or appreciates the effort. His loyalty to his own mission can take on a mythic, self-sacrificing tone, as if abandoning the course would mean betraying some higher, unseen force.
Mars in Gate 29 is trine his natal sun-moon eclipse axis (and also last week’s full moon axis), meaning this Mars return is in harmonious flow with that original full moon tension of his birth, bringing an activating force to the tension between the emotional ego and the desire to act and speak the right time. This Mars trine brings action, momentum, and intensity to both his private lineage (4th house) and his public presence (10th house).
… Squaring off with the great disruptor Uranus
What’s more, his natal Mars (& Mars in the sky) in the Gate of Perserverance (Gate 29) are making an exact square with Uranus in Taurus, in the Gate of Contribution (Gate 8). Gate 8 is all about the drive to share one's unique identity with the world, to contribute with an authentic offering that challenges the collective to evolve.
Mars in Gate 29 square Uranus in Gate 8 is a clash between devotion and disruption. It’s a dynamic tension between the sacred “yes” to a path (Gate 29: The Gate of Commitment) and the fierce urge to stand apart from the crowd and let radical authenticity be known (Gate 8: The Gate of Contribution).
This all means that he’s in a fated moment of reactivation and commitment to his goals. The themes he was born under (public power, personal myth, family legacy, persuasive control) are lit up and demanding expression. And because Mars rules anger, will, and war, this return doesn't just energize him personally, it makes him combative, charged, and catalytic on a collective scale. But on his birthday, he is clashing with a greater world that is no longer afraid to show how much they will not allow themselves to be boxed in.
The same forces that were in play the day he was born are echoing now, amplified by the times we’re in. This weekend’s military parade, thrown at the height of his Mars return, a square to Uranus, and on the anniversary of his natal lunar eclipse, takes on a symbolic charge. It isn’t just a display of power, it is a performance….one that carries echoes of strength, fear, nostalgia, and empire.
The (Possible) Balm of a Neptunian Face-Off
One saving grace, perhaps, about this birthday chart is that Saturn and Neptune in Aries are approaching an opposition to Mr. T’s Neptune in Libra. Saturn and Neptune are both in Gate 25, known as Innocence or Universal Love. Mr. T’s Neptune is in Gate 18, the Gate of Correction.
This energy suggests deep unconscious patterns around perfectionism, criticism, and image correction, but often filtered through idealism or illusion. In Libra, this takes a social form, where he projects refinement, harmony, and fairness, even if the underlying drive is control, approval, or legacy defense. There's an attachment to appearing “correct” or righteous, but it may lack clarity or grounding. With this opposition, a profound tension arises between pure, unfiltered truth (25) and idealized or distorted judgment (18).
In the first degrees of the Zodiac, Gate 25 (Innocence) is raw, innocent, principled, and unfiltered. It cuts through pretense. As both Saturn (discipline, consequence) and Neptune (truth vs illusion) move through this gate, the world is being asked to drop egoic distortion and return to what is honest, essential, and uncontrived.
This is a reckoning: the tangible world (Saturn) and mythic truth (Neptune) oppose the illusion of always being right, polished, or untouchable. It brings spiritual consequences to egoic distortion, especially in how truth is wielded or manipulated for approval or control. If met consciously (which is unlikely without pressure), this opposition could offer: a humbling, a breakdown of false narratives, or a forced confrontation with personal myth-making.
Saturn and Neptune in Aries in Gate 25 are squaring off with Jupiter in Cancer in the sky this weekend, expanding (Jupiter) on these themes of a return to purity of heart on the global stage, especially as it relates to the concept of home, lineage, and security (Cancer). Here is the sense of home and homeland that we’re standing up for.
As you can see, this birthday is not one to be taken lightly. Through the weekend, Mars squaring Uranus is making the atmosphere crackle with impulsivity, defiance, and the potential for sudden disruption. Jupiter squaring Saturn and Neptune is creating a tense dynamic between the desire for emotional safety and expansion. There are glimmering lights of new collective beginnings amidst the leadership’s prideful commitment to false truths.
If you're attending protests this weekend, stay grounded, move with intention, and prioritize both your safety and your purpose; radical change is most powerful when it's channeled, not chaotic.
Sending courage and love out to all of you,
Alison
