The Future is in Indra's Web
Reflections on today's Virgo-Pisces Eclipse
An astrology chart is a web of meaning.
At any given moment, there are multitudes of interconnections happening between the celestial bodies and the earth. For most of us, our linear minds make it difficult to read into more than one or two aspects at a time. But at all times, a snapshot of the sky reveals a deep and rich picture of the interwoven mythos of the the moment.
Sometimes, in a dream state, I catch a glimpse of the total complexity of the interconnected picture that surrounds us, but by the time I wake up I’m relegated to just one or two storylines.
But this morning I woke up in a dreamy blur, a few hours from the new moon solar eclipse in Virgo, and a clear message came through about where we are, and where we’re headed.
The Future of Humanity is Indra’s Web.
Indra’s Web (also known as Indra’s Net) is a mythic metaphor from Buddhist and Hindu philosophy, especially associated with Mahayana Buddhism and Huayan teachings.
Indra is a Vedic deity, one of the oldest gods in the Hindu pantheon. In the Rig Veda, he is the king of the heavens and lord of storms, lightning, and rain. He’s a warrior god, often depicted riding a white elephant and wielding a thunderbolt weapon. Indra was revered as the protector of cosmic order, bringing rains for fertility and defeating demons that threatened the world.
The image of Indra’s Net came later, especially in Buddhist and Hindu philosophy, as a way of describing his palace in heaven. The myth says that in Indra’s celestial palace there is a vast net that stretches infinitely in all directions. At every crossing point of the threads sits a shining jewel. Each jewel reflects every other jewel in the net, symbolizing the endless interconnection of all beings and all phenomena.
Imagine an infinite net stretched across the universe.
At each knot of the net sits an individual jewel, perfectly polished.
Each jewel reflects all the other jewels in the net, and within each reflection is contained every other reflection, endlessly.
My dream early this morning, right before my daughter woke me up, was of of a giant spiderweb stretched around the earth, with a reflective dewdrop glistening at each node of the web. Serendipitiously enough, we went outside to eat breakfast and play, and right away my daughter pointed out a beautiful spider web that one of our resident baby orb-weavers had spun last night between the hot tub and cold plunge. Wow.
Indra’s web illustrates the interwoven nature of reality: nothing exists independently, and every part of reality reflects and contains the whole. In Huayan Buddhism, it’s used to express the idea of dependent origination - how all phenomena arise together, mutually reflecting and shaping one another. And it also represents the importance of each single, sovereign dewdrop or jewel within the whole- we are not a giant blob of unboundaried existence, but we are also not alone in the universe.
The Dawning of a Networked Reality: Astrological & Human Design Correspondences
As I reflect on the chart of today, as this solar eclipse at the last degree of Virgo sits across the sky from Saturn at the last degree of Pisces and Neptune in the first degree of Aries, I’m struck by how many storylines in the chart are reflecting of the awakening of this Indra’s-Web-consciousness.
The spiderweb that the planets are weaving right now is energetically pointing to a deep need for an integration of the polarities of self and other, left and right, dark and light.
Here are some of the threads that came in my dreams last night:
The new moon eclipse represents a new beginning, a rebirth, in the areas of life ruled by Virgo, the sign of sovereignty and service to others in the material plane. This eclipse is at the last degree of Virgo, which is in Human Design Gate 46, known as “Determination of the Self”, ”Serendipity” or ”Embodiment”, reminding us to tap into the innate divinity within our own carbon-based bodies as the moon (subconscious body) partially overtakes the light of the sun (conscious will).
The moon and sun are reflected directly across the sky by Saturn and Neptune on the Pisces/Aries cusp. Both of these planets are in Gate 25, a gate that spans Pisces and Aries and is known as “Spirit of the Self” or “Heart of Innocence” and “Unconditional Love”. This energy brings a collective focus on unconditional reverence for oneself and all of creation- for the fact that nothing exists independently of eachother. The end of Pisces, where Saturn is now retrograding, is like the richest soil, the compost of all of the past cycles that have come before us. The beginning of Aries, where Neptune is hovering, is the beginning point for the entire Zodiac, the sprout of the ram’s horns coming out of the earth to begin a new cycle above ground. Eclipses are rebirth moments in and of themselves, and the planets across the sky are tracing in the point of rebirth of the entire Zodiac.
Both Gates 46 and 25 are in the “G/Ji” or Heart center in the Human Design bodygraph, and both are parts of the Incarnation Cross known as the Vessel of Love. Gate 46 is the gate of the Autumn Equinox, and Gate 25 is the gate of the Spring Equinox, representing balance and harmony between day and night - another integration of polarities that only happens twice per year.
Speaking of which, Happy Equinox! It arrives tomorrow, heightening the energies of integration and interconnection. Celebrate with apple cider and pie!
Moving beyond the eclipse and the equinox: These two planets, Saturn and Neptune, will complete their retrogrades and move forward to meet at the 0 point of Aries in February 2026. Saturn is the planet of structure & hierarchy, and Neptune is the planet of the sea, of dissolving boundaries. As these two travel together now along the cusp of the ending and the beginning of the Zodiac, we are being called to understand both boundaries AND boundlessness in preparation for a brand new global cycle to begin. We’re all part of something much larger than ourselves AND we’re all sovereign beings.
The Virgo/Pisces Axis, where today’s eclipse is happening, are the homes of the nodes of the moon from January 2025 to July 2026. However, due to their relative positions in the sky, we will have the final lunar eclipse on the Pisces/Virgo axis in February 2027. According to Human Design’s study of the Precession of the Equinoxes, that is the same week that the Vernal Equinox point moves from the Gate of Community/Family to the Gate of Spirit/Abundance - a shift from a collective/tribal background frequency, where we focused on something larger than ourselves, to an individual background frequency, where we identify with the divinity within ourselves. It’s fascinating to me that the Virgo/Pisces eclipse cycle, focusing on integrating sovereignty into the tribe and community within our sovereign selves, ends right as this major background shift occurs along the same thematic lines.
Finally, the outer planets Pluto, Neptune, Uranus & Saturn, at this snapshot in time, are in a harmonious triangle configuration, bringing together the energies of transformation, integration, revolution, and structure to a cohesive flow. And because they are slow-moving planets, this harmonious configuration will last through the next few years. The Trine between Pluto and Uranus and both of their Sextiles to Neptune and Saturn are geometries that remind me of a structurally-sound spiderweb. Other revolutionary times in recent history have had squares, inconjuncts, and oppositions of the outer planets, and this is the first time in a very. long. time. that these outer planets have formed such supportive angles… so…. there’s hope. Hope for integration.
Finally (part 2), Mercury, the messenger between the worlds, is conjunct this eclipse. Mercury is the Ruler of Virgo, so this eclipse may be an important aide to help us reset our way of thinking and communicating.
I find myself finishing writing this just as the eclipse is happening (visible only on the other side of the planet in New Zealand and Antarctica). I’m really feeling into the serendipity of this unexpected transmission, as both my natal moon and mercury are in Gate 46 (Serendipity/Embodiment), conjunct this eclipse! (The celestial bodies don’t make things up, y’all…!)
And right now I need to run to a movement & meditation workshop to celebrate the end of eclipse season… so I’ll leave ya with what my stream of dream consciousness felt inclined to jot down.
I know times have been wild and stressful and overwhelming for most of us lately. I hope that this dimming and re-emergence of the light gives you the small reset (or major rebirth) that you need.
All my universal love and embodied serendipity,
Alison

Beautiful! Thank you! The 9/7 eclipse was conjunct my Pluto in Virgo 15 and opposite my Chiron (Pisces)! I’m
In the solar energy and datacenter business building a web of energy and power and connectivity. BTW the Saturn Neptune conjunct happens on my birthday 2/19/26!! I’m a Pisces zero sun(cross of the sleeping Phoenix gate 55).
Ok. I am just starting to read your article and will make a separate comment after I do. I also woke up yesterday with a message that we all connect to a plasma or realm and interconnect and communicate and receive our info, Intuition, guidance. A web. Like when we text someone at the same time. Or a strategy at work comes to you for the next step. Or you pick up on your daughters cold hundreds of miles away. Or when you think of a restaurant you and your son visited in a city he’s touring and sends you a photo of it without mention 12 hours later when he walks by! And? An area of our brain that’s misunderstood? After this came to me, I was served a woman stating something similar on social that knocked me off my socks. Same message. Ok. Now I’ll read! Thank you.
