Now, onto the full moon <3
In the midst of winter’s embrace, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment, a time to pause, reflect, and prepare for the new beginnings that await us. The full moon in Leo, coupled with the celebration of Imbolc, invites us to delve deep into our inner worlds, tending to the soil of our souls and nurturing the seeds of potential that lie dormant within.
Full Moon in Leo: Gate 33, Opposite the Sun in Aquarius Gate 19
The full moon in Leo illuminates Gate 33, known as the gate of Retreat or Privacy. Although it is a Leo moon, this specific energy within Leo encourages us to step back into our lion’s dens, find solace in solitude, and to embrace the gift of mindfulness. Opposite the full moon in the sky, the sun in Aquarius shines through Gate 19, the gate of Approach or Wanting. This is an energy of moving toward a situation, and so this juxtaposition invites us to balance the inward journey of reflection with the outward expression of sensitivity and connection to others. It’s a dance of opposites, urging us to integrate these energies and find harmony within.
The Stellium of Planets in Aquarius: A Call for Transformation
This period is marked by a powerful stellium of planets in Aquarius, including Pluto, Mercury, Venus, and Mars, along with the sun. Each planet brings its unique influence, contributing to a collective call for transformation and revolution. Pluto’s presence in Aquarius shines a light on the unseen underworld of the collective humanity, urging us to confront the shadows and embrace the potential for profound change. It’s a time to question, to innovate, and to envision a future that aligns with our highest ideals.
Imbolc: The Cross-Quarter Day of Renewal
Sunday we also celebrate Imbolc, the cross-quarter day between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Imbolc is a time of tending to the inner soil that teems with life beneath the chilly surface, preparing our inner worlds for the growth that inevitably lies ahead in spring and summer. In Celtic tradition, Imbolc is a celebration of the goddess Brigid, a symbol of hearth, home, and healing, and means “In the Belly” because it was a time of year in Ireland when pregnant Ewes would begin lactating, showing signs of life to come. Imbolc is also a fire festival that encourages us to light our inner flames, to nurture our dreams, and to embrace the promise of renewal.
A Moon of Integration, Sensitivity, and Mindfulness
As we navigate these cosmic energies of this full moon and this cross quarter day, I invite you to join me in embracing the gifts of this season. Let us retreat into our inner sanctuaries, finding peace and clarity in the quiet moments. Let us approach the world with sensitivity and openness, ready to engage with the transformative energies that surround us. Together, we can weave a tapestry of connection, growth, and renewal.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. I look forward to sharing more insights and reflections with you in future episodes. Until then, may the light of the full moon guide you on your path.
With warmth and gratitude,
Alison
